Founded in 2000, Fondation Émergence is a pioneering Quebec organization dedicated to raising awareness, education, and advocacy for the rights of people from sexual and gender diversity communities.
Recognized for its inclusive and accessible approach, the Foundation takes concrete action to help build a society where everyone — regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression — can live fully with dignity, respect, and acceptance.
As part of our strategic expansion plan, we are seeking to recruit local collaborators who will embody our mission on the ground and help build more inclusive communities across Canada.
Job Description
As a trainer for Fondation Émergence, you will act as an ambassador for our values of inclusion and respect.
You will lead impactful training sessions for a wide range of audiences (businesses, municipalities, public sector organizations, senior residences, etc.).
With strong emotional intelligence, you will be able to navigate sensitive topics calmly and professionally, while making complex concepts accessible to everyone.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver the various training sessions in the Fondation Émergence portfolio in in-person format, including:
ProAllié
Inclusive writing
Countering harassment
Inclusive municipality
Ensuring aging with pride
Countering conversion therapies
LGBT Basics (ABC of LGBT)
Pronouns 101
LGBTQ-phobic Cyberbullying leaves lasting marks
Master and deliver accurate, up-to-date content provided by the Foundation.
Explain concepts related to sexual and gender diversity in a clear, accessible, and educational manner.
Manage participant groups, answer difficult questions, and facilitate constructive discussions.
Adapt your approach for different audiences, including corporate, community, and educational environments.
Selection Criteria
Excellent knowledge of the realities and systemic issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
Ability to present topics objectively, relying on research and facts, and avoiding alienating the audience.
Ability to meet people where they are without judgment and without requiring them to immediately share all perspectives.
Experience facilitating groups, delivering training, or working in education.
Experience managing complex topics and acting as a mediator in polarized contexts.
High flexibility for daytime freelance mandates during weekdays.
Ability and willingness to travel within the Capitale-Nationale region.
Strong emotional intelligence, calm demeanor, and ability to manage sometimes resistant participants.
Strong organizational and structuring skills.
